PETALS
I create textile pieces with rusted fabric and stitched petals, with underlying themes of preservation and mending. Red petals stretch against stitching, distorted by thread. The fabric is buried and rusted over a time unveiling patterns and colours nature left behind, reminiscent of the marks we leave on a day to day basis. The stitching becomes obsessive in places, a futile attempt to preserve time, memories, fragile possessions.
