1 Studios
1.1 All studio residents will adhere to the full terms and conditions contained within the tenancy agreement for the period of hire.
1.2 A studio must not be used for anything other than the sole purpose of carrying out the creative work of the studio resident. Under no circumstances are studio residents, guests of studio residents, or any other person, allowed to stay in the studio spaces outside of opening hours, or any other time the coffee bar is open.
1.3 All studio residents and/or guests of the studio residents must sign in and out without fail in order to comply with Fire and Safety Regulations
1.4 Flammable liquids, substances and materials must be stored safely. No electrical heaters of any kind, toasters, kettles or any other electrical appliances must be taken into any of the studio spaces on any account in order to comply with Fire and Safety Regulations.
1.5 Due to insurance and planning restrictions, studio residents must only use the studios during the opening hours of the coffee bar, or if the coffee bar is open in the evening due to a workshop or class being in progress. On no account must extra keys be made in order to gain access outside of these hours, or to give access to anyone who doesn’t have the permission of both Deaf Cat Partners
1.6 No business activity must occur in any of the studios which is in direct competition with the services that The Deaf Cat offers or may offer in the future or which one or both of the Deaf Cat Partners has not permitted.
1.7 All creative activities for which any of the studios are being used will be with the prior knowledge of and the permission of both Deaf Cat Partners and will occur under the name of The Deaf Cat.
1.8 Allowing for reasonable use of a studio by it’s resident, the studio concerned must be kept in a tidy presentable condition and must be returned to it’s original state at the end of the agreed tenancy.
1.9 We accept no responsibility for any personal items belonging to the hirer being lost, stolen or damaged while being kept, stored or used within any of the studio spaces or while left anywhere on The Deaf Cat premises
2 Gallery
2.1 All hirers of the gallery will adhere to the full terms and conditions contained within the tenancy agreement for the period of hire.
2.2 Allowing for reasonable use of the gallery by it’s hirer, the gallery space concerned must be kept in a tidy presentable condition and must be returned to it’s original state at the end of the agreed hire period.
2.3 Hire for workshops, clubs, talks, etc:-
2.3.1 No business activity must occur during the use of the gallery space which is in direct competition with the services that The Deaf Cat offers or may offer in the future or which one or both of the Deaf Cat Partners has not permitted.
3 Folios
3.1 Neither The Deaf Cat nor the Deaf Cat Partners have any claim to the copyright of any of the images or work contained in any folio on the website and cannot offer any advice or give any permission regarding the use of any of the images or work contained in any folio on the website.
3.2 While everything possible will be done to minimise the risk of breach of copyright law regarding the images or work contained in any folio on the website The Deaf Cat nor The Deaf Cat Partners will not be responsible for any breach of copyright law regarding any of the images or work contained in any folio on the website.
4 General
4.1 Any damage caused to the building or the fixtures and fittings of the building or to the studio, gallery or venue hired whether by the hirer or by an invited guest of the hirer must be paid for by the hirer
4.2 All mail addressed to the hirer of any of the studios of must be c/o The Deaf Cat, Penfold House, 10 High Street, Rochester, ME1 1PT.
4.3 All publicity, promotional material, leaflets, web sites, etc, which uses the Deaf Cat name, The Deaf Cat logo, The Deaf Cat premises (or any space within), The Deaf Cat Website (name or content), or any other imagery, text, or reference to any of the above, will be created with the prior knowledge and the permission of both Deaf Cat Partners and will contain the name of The Deaf Cat, and be produced and distributed under the name of The Deaf Cat.
