I was born on the Wirral, which overlooks the North Wales mountains, the river Dee and its marshes. I have since lived in Edinburgh, Devon and Herefordshire, before moving to Kent in 2002. My painting and illustration work is either inspired by the landscape or more domestic themes, being the mother of four now grown up children.
I love to use acrylic, I scratch into it while it is still wet. I don't want my work to be copies, I want them to have a life of their own.
I also love using good old fashioned pencil crayons kept pointy sharp for  layering up the colours into lovely tones and textures.
I get inspired by obscure nursery rhymes, some of Keats's lighter verse and  Virginia Woolf's descriptive work, especially if it is child related such as 'To the Lighthouse' and 'The Waves'.
