Usa
Jim is a recent transplant from the USA, having lived in Rochester for just under two years. Jim completed a BA in graphic design from The American University in 1980. His horticulture and design expertise facilitated the creation of numerous landscape designs as a vocation in his spare time.
This current series of paintings pays homage to Jim's ethnic and spiritual heritage. Traditional Native American imagery is usually decorative, narrative or symbolic. One of the most important symbols and one which is common across tribal boundaries is the "sacred hoop" or circle. Because of it's importance, you will see the circle as a repeating theme in Jim's paintings.
